About

I'm a Professional Counselor Associate serving Portland and Clackamas for in-person clients and the greater Oregon community for telehealth. My approach is warm, real, and deeply human-centered. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help you understand your story, help you build your resilience muscle, regulate your nervous system, and build daily practices that support lasting change.

I work collaboratively and at your pace, honoring your lived experience while offering practical tools you can use between sessions. When you're ready, we'll move from insight to action so you can align life with your values and feel more grounded, confident, and connected. Think of me as a witness and a guide.

Hi, I'm Deena Stipsky, a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon. I graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a BA in Psychology and went on to earn a master's in Clinical Psychology to qualify as a professional counselor.

In school, my research spanned from the effects of music on mood to working with the positive psychology lab on resilience from affirmations. I have had a lifelong relationship with music as a healing tool and mood lifter, and particularly live music soothes my soul

I moved to Oregon to be a full-time grandmother, Gigi, actually! I LOVE THIS EXPERIENCE! It's definitely one of my favorites after a long, experienced life. In my presence, I hope to always bring open-mindedness and a judgment-free zone. I am a little quirky but completely human.

I believe change happens through compassionate curiosity and practice, which sounds like work, but if you practice blending what you LOVE, it becomes easy and something you enjoy. Together we'll build skills that support safety, clarity, and forward momentumboth in session and in daily life.

My Approach

While in school, I discovered positive psychology, and the language used just made sense to me. Oftentimes, we can get stuck in loops of thinking about negative things; it's an effect of trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as many other mild issues. Having a way to break that loop in my own mind was amazing, and I became engrossed in my work, planning to help my future clients with these evidence-based ideas blended with other evidence-based therapeutic techniques. I'm excited to help you build the life of your dreams and go on this journey with you.

I use a personalized blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Humanistic Approach, and Solution-Focused Therapy to support your unique journey toward healing and resilience. I prefer the lens of Positive Psychology.
